With regards to the Jazz Jam -

Acoustic only and individuals looking to play please. Sorry this is small and informal type social so a full band with all it's associated equipment wouldn't be appropriate.

Also in the interests of safety and comfort so we have chosen to not go that route at this time.

Thanks in advance!

We want to formally thank those that did show up for our 1st Jam & Cheese event.

It was a dismal failure and a pleasant success. The failure was in that only a handful of people showed up, that would be 5. Likewise no musicians but the Norwegian Jazz station played a great selection of music.

The success was that the layout seemed to work and the selection of food worked also. Actually we got too many types of cheese for our hurried layout abilities. So it was a success from a learning standpoint too.

We had 15 types of cheeses, all Nordic (Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, & Swedish) but ended up putting out 13. Four were sliced on demand to use with our Limpa or Kavring bread and the other eight were cubed. We also offered mandarin orange segments, pear slices, red & green grapes, 2 types of dried salted meats, and bottled water as part of the smorgasbord offering.

Our next will be Nov 1st and then on Dec 6th as those are  the 1st Sat night of the month. We were planning on having them the 1st Sat of each month. That should give us time to make some changes to help things along especially for larger turn outs.

Oh, and the most important success was that those that did come had a great evening out. Didn't find out though who the big winner was in bridge. Think it was Kate if nothing else she has a version of our Highland Lakes Hottie hot chocolate now named after her. The "Kate" a HLH with pumpkin spice flavoring added. Thanks Kate!

Hope your days are more success than failure!

Late P.S. OK so we can't count. We actually have over 21 cheeses but only got 15 out that night. Even at 21 there are a few more we'd like to get in house when they become available.

Well our 2nd monthly event went well. The setup area has been refined and worked better. The selection was enjoyed by those participating. Still no local talent stepping up to show their love of Jazz but all in good time. The Norwegian Jazz station had a glitch so we listened to another but it featured a great selection as well.

Thanks also to those who just came for our atmosphere and what the coffeehouse offers. A large part of our atmosphere is our customers and the atmosphere this past Saturday night was great!

Next Jam & Cheese will be Dec 6th

PS .. congrats to whomever was the scrabble winner and likewise on domino's. There was only 1 small empty table which made for a nice crowd.

Thanks to all for making this past weeks Jam&Cheese the best one yet. Glad everyone enjoyed the Smorgasbord. Sorry didn't have anymore of the fliers with the names and info on all the cheeses but hey the really "stinky" one or the "flaky" one or the one with the "caraway" seeds seemed to be working just fine. Big favorites of the night the caraway and the "caramelized" bread cheese. The spicy dried meat and the prosciutto were wiped out too. Thanks though ya did leave one piece for yours truly, ha ha.

Never did find out who won the chess match or the domino's tournament but that's ok too.

Nick should be getting back from Florida soon so perhaps at next months in addition to our Jazz will be his great trumpet.

Take care, safe journey, and again thanks for your patronage!

This months Jazz Jam & Cheese will be canceled due to the township Fireworks on the 4th of July. May all have a safe holiday. See you next month! It's Mom's birthday then so may add her Swedish Meatballs to the Smorgasbord table in honor of her.
